Emmie Harvard (b. 1998, Georgia) is a photographer based in Athens, Georgia. She will receive her BFA in Photography at the University of Georgia in May of 2021. Through her eagerness to understand the present, she creates tiny worlds out of individual images which she hopes will play into a larger story. Despite where she is creating images or of what she is creating images of, she looks to offer an empathetic and gentle response to all her subjects. She searches for nuances and connections to bring the worlds together with optimism and curiosity.
During the last few years, Emmie has worked as a freelance photographer. She has worked with various musicians, artists and designers to document events and work, and is currently working as a member of production for UGA’s Talking Dog Advertising Agency and UGA Fashion Magazine, Rouge. She has worked various jobs in the past such as being a farm hand, dog walker, vendor at various farmers markets, nanny, and a florist assistant. Despite her varied interests, photography has remained a consistent way for her to communicate her life to others throughout her life.
